What is the monthly mock selective exam?
It is a named monthly exam with timed Mathematical Reasoning, Reading and Thinking Skills subjects, instant results, answer review and its own leaderboard.
How does the monthly ranking work?
Your child is ranked only against SelectiveExams students who completed that same named exam. Every leaderboard shows the number of ranked students.
How often is there a new exam?
Each published exam is named for its month and has its own results, report and leaderboard. The current exam appears in the dashboard when it is ready to sit.
Can I use these to prepare for the OC test too?
Yes. The Maths, Thinking Skills, and Reading sections test the same core skills as the OC (Opportunity Class) placement test. The question format differs slightly, but the practice is highly transferable.
Who is the monthly exam for?
Primarily Year 5 students preparing for Year 7 entry. Year 4 students who want a longer preparation runway are also welcome. Practice does not guarantee an outcome.
Do you have selective school past papers?
The NSW Department of Education publishes official sample and practice material rather than the live placement-test papers. SelectiveExams provides separate, original practice for the three auto-graded subjects.
