Terms of Service

By creating an account or using SelectiveExams ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are a parent or guardian creating an account on behalf of a child, you agree to these terms on both your behalf and the child's behalf.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

To use the Platform, you must create an account with accurate and complete information, including the student's full name, parent/guardian details, and contact information.

You are responsible for:
• Maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Ensuring the information you provide is accurate and up to date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or violate these terms.

When a student begins an exam on the Platform:

• A strict timer starts immediately and cannot be paused.
• Before submission, students can use Previous or the question grid to revisit and change answers.
• Refreshing, closing, or navigating away does not pause the timer. Reopening continues the same in-progress attempt rather than creating a new one.
• Each monthly exam can only be attempted once per student per subject.
• Once submitted, answers cannot be changed. Contact support if a verified technical error affected the attempt.

The rules shown before each section apply to that monthly exam attempt. They help keep rankings fair but do not reproduce every official NSW test-day condition.

If you consent to leaderboard identity display during sign-up:

• The student's abbreviated name and result may be shown to signed-in users on the same SelectiveExams monthly exam leaderboard.
• This consent can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us at support@selectiveexams.com.au.
• Withdrawing consent masks the student's identity in later leaderboard views. Their result remains in the ranking so other positions do not change.
• An optional Premium badge requires separate guardian consent for that child, the child's leaderboard identity consent and current account Premium access. Siblings can have different badge choices. The badge does not disclose plan, spend, billing cycle, cancellation, refund or access dates, and it never affects ranking.

These are SelectiveExams rankings, not official NSW rankings. The number of students is shown with each leaderboard.

From time to time, SelectiveExams may offer prizes to top-performing students. Prize eligibility, selection criteria, and terms will be communicated separately for each giveaway.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel any giveaway at any time.

All exam content, questions, solutions, reports, and platform materials are the intellectual property of SelectiveExams.

You may not:
• Copy, reproduce, or distribute exam content.
• Share exam questions or solutions publicly.
• Use the Platform's content for commercial purposes.
• Scrape or automated-extract data from the Platform.

Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate account termination.

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation.
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent exam attempt limits.
• Submit false, misleading, or plagiarized content.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

The current monthly exam and its detailed results and answer review are offered free of charge and do not require a credit card.

SelectiveExams may also offer optional Premium access. The intended offers are a founding price of A$99 once for access through 11:59pm AEST on 31 May 2028, without renewal, or A$19 per month renewing until cancelled. Cancellation keeps monthly access through the paid period. Premium adds unlimited personalised Smart Drills without a weekly or monthly usage cap, 10 new timed subject tests each month across Mathematical Reasoning, Reading and Thinking Skills, worked solutions and deeper My Skills progress guidance. Smart Drills use available reviewed questions and require sufficient completed work for a useful next step. Writing is not included. Premium does not guarantee admission, placement, a statewide rank, a score increase or a particular exam outcome. A Premium customer may request a refund within seven days without limiting rights under Australian Consumer Law.

SelectiveExams is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Platform will be available at all times without interruption.
• Exam content will perfectly match the real NSW Selective exam.
• Scores or rankings will predict actual exam performance.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SelectiveExams shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Platform.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us.

Upon termination, your exam data and results may be retained in anonymised form for aggregate analytics purposes.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
